What Nigerian Models Online Is All About…
Nigerian Models Online is a portal focused on Nigerian fashion, fashion designers and models. We intend it to be a place where Nigerian fashion interests can meet and collaborate. Our plan is to become the online face of Nigerian fashion, an internet gateway where foreign fashion-related businesses and personalities can interface with, or begin to explore, Nigerian fashion and modelling talent.
We are currently constructing a framework in which we will host an index of Nigeria’s fashion and modelling talent. We believe this online community will enhance collaboration between fashion industry stakeholders and, through increased marketing and publicity for our clients, generate revenue for our partners.
About Elixir Magazine
Elixir magazine is our online lifestyle journal, which promotes news about fashion events and personalities within Nigeria, and about foreign fashion events which are Nigeria-inspired or Nigeria-related. It also provides our partners the opportunity to advertise their products to our reader base.
Elixir magazine, unlike most other Nigerian fashion magazines, is not snobbish. It celebrates Nigerian indigenous fashion experiences. Anything interesting is welcome, as long as it is fashion-related or style-related. We define the magazine by saying “Elixir magazine isn’t really about fashion. It’s about how fashion makes people behave.”
How To Participate
Advertising
Currently, we offer advertising in the form of sponsored articles and sidebar ads. Because we are a young magazine, we may occasionally trade advertising for referrals and interesting content. For example, we could offer popular fashion personalities space in our magazine in exchange for interesting articles and pictures about the events they attend or participate in. Doing this helps their name and brand become familiar to our readers, and helps us publish more interesting content and appeal to a greater fan base.
We are exploring more advertising options, which we may roll out in the near future, and pending our internet traffic assessment, we are looking at ending our advertising barter services around the beginning of 2010 exclusively in favour of premium adverts. Only partners who have patronized that service before that date will be eligible to continue enjoying barter advertising.
Model Publicity and Profiles
Elixir invites models to submit their profiles and portfolio images for consideration as future covers and magazine content. We may not use all submissions, but where we do, we will be sure to give credit to the model/source of the content. Email a sample to info@nigerianmodelsonline.com. If your submission meets our standards, we will respond to you.
In future, when our fashion community becomes available, such submissions should be made in the form of registrations at the community site, from where we will select the portfolios and profiles to be displayed in the magazine.
Articles
Interested fashion writers and bloggers are welcome. Please pick a relevant section of the magazine, create a topic and submit a short sample of your article (not more than 500 words) to info@nigerianmodelsonline.com. If your article meets our criteria, we will respond to your email and discuss further details of your submission.
Depending on the prevailing circumstances, we may not always pay for articles. However, if we publish your article we will be sure to give you a prominent credit at the top of the page as the author of that article, so you can use it as a reference for future clients/jobs.
