Mrs. Motolani Doherty, representing the First Lady of Lagos State; the Chairperson of Etiosa Local Government; the Chairman Ikeja Local Government; Deaconess C. Tom, the President of the National Hairdressers Association; Chief Mrs. Elegushi; Mrs. Shola Ogungbe of Sholly Beauty World; Mr. Nuru and Nari of Ayman Enterprises, and others.

The event was organised by Global Events and Style (Chukwuma Emmanuel). Nine participants represented the national zones, competing for the title of Hairstylist Of The Year.
Participating hair salons included Natomis Salon, M & S Salon, Trans4mer Hair and Beauty Concept, Elegant Twins Salon, Patinee Salon, Zuma Steve Salon, Bashimi Signature Salon, and Daisy Salon.
The challenge was to create two hairstyles (ethnic and bridal) using Amigos new signature braids and mirelle.
Olatunji Kayode Samuel of Abuja-based Trans4mer Hair and Beauty Concept won first prize: a totally branded hair salon, a ticket to Accra and a generator. Second prize went to Platinee Salon, who won a branded salon, generator and an industrial fan. Natomis Salon got a branded salon and DVD player as third prize.
All prizes were awarded courtesy Amigo hair products.
